In service to the community, the Kiwanis Club of Centennial Hills supports a variety of initiatives to enhance the lives of children, youth and teens throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Join us!
In cooperation with Clark County School District administrators and educators, Centennial Hills Kiwanians serve as advisors and mentors for Key Club members at Arbor View High School and Shadow Ridge High School, both located in the Northwest Las Vegas Valley. Students develop their leadership skills and build character by planning and participating in community-based service projects, facilitating meetings, and encouraging each other to grow in compassion and unselfish service to those around them.
The Kiwanis Club of Centennial Hills is proud to award scholarships for continuing education to Key Club seniors currently attending Arbor View and Shadow Ridge high schools. Learn more about past recipients and the annual application process on our Scholarship Program page.
Sleep in Heavenly Peace
The Kiwanis Club of Centennial Hills fully agrees with the mission of Sleep in Heavenly Peace (SHP), which is “No Kid Sleeps on the Floor in Our Town!” Our members show up in work clothes, roll up their sleeves, pick up the tools and materials provided at the site, and get right to work…we’re building beds for kids in need! At this writing, more than 3,250 children in the Las Vegas Valley are awaiting a bed to call their own. Centennial Hills Kiwanians are making a difference in partnership with this incredible organization.
Project 150
The harsh reality of homelessness hits particularly hard when it comes to our local youth population. More often than not, this occurs through no fault of their own. Overcoming the harshest of circumstances, homeless, displaced, and disadvantaged youth struggle to remain in school and graduate. Project 150 began in just one local high school, and now serves at-risk youth valley-wide. Kiwanians from the Centennial Hills club help connect with these most vulnerable students by routinely collecting hygiene products and school supplies for distribution, as well as serving as needed at Project 150’s two Las Vegas outreach locations.
Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada
It’s never too early to introduce children to the importance of financial literacy, work readiness, and entrepreneurship, and that’s why the Kiwanis Club of Centennial Hills partners with Junior Achievement of Southern Nevada to jumpstart the learning process in these important areas. Bringing their business expertise and life experience to the JA setting through both classroom-based and after-school activities, our members are helping prepare students of all ages for success in school, and success in the real world.
